Downstairs' door was fixed yesterday as it had become distinctly worse for the wear due to repeated police attention. The most recent damage was inflicted a few months ago, after which the inhabitant presumably found other accommodation because his music stopped shaking up my walls ( Read more... )

Once upon a time, Hypatia's #2 was given the challenge of reading out some cloggie names. I think Eelco's was given up as a lost cause (there's a reason he's called E-something), but me she managed to stick with the brilliant "Kimbug". Today, the dentist's receptionist matched her and called me out of the waiting room with "Werebug". Very Friday ( Read more... )

Ah, this is such a nice estate to live on. Recently painted and renovated buildings, space for kids to play, squirrels gambolling on the grass, half a dozen cops turning over the apartment downstairs...

Having been shunned by trick-or-treaters during Halloween last year, I was prepared to be disappointed again. But there were witches in the streets as I walked home yesterday and I even heard some kids chorussing "trick or treat" on my estate.
